I was leaving for work and decided to quick wax the Focus in a suit. Makes sense right? Sorry for the dirty wheels, I wasn't touching brake dust. I realized I hadn't photographed the two new EcoBoost cars together so there you go.

Both look great. The new fusion is a really good looking car.

Thanks. I'm particularly pleased with the look of the Fusion. It's a pretty striking car, I find myself noticing other Fusions which was one of the reason we went for it. I don't find myself noticing most midsize sedans.

Can't say I am a fan of that color silver — it always seems flat to me. I went with the blurple ST after much debate.

I chose Blue, White and Silver in that order. But this was the only ST within 300 miles that had partial leather Recaros and a sunroof.

Man, the Focust ST is a great looking hot hatch. If my final decision for my next car ends up being the FoST, I think i'm gonna go Tuxedo Black. You know, keep things classy. Also, I have this idea that if I were to upgrade the intercooler I'd get one that's black and have a white bowtie painted on. Still debating that idea. lol

I see what you did there. I like it.

Careful about buying a black hatchback (or any car, really). They look classy when they're clean, but it's a losing battle to keep them that way. Pollen, road salt, and dust mean that there's something all over my car 5 minutes after I wash it. And hatchbacks tend to collect a ton of dust on the back.

Yeah, before I moved from Arizona I would never have bought a black car. However, when I got out to Illinois this winter, it looked like the white and other light colored cars showed the dirty snow and what not way worse than any of the black/darker vehicles.

That's true, but lighter colors also show less of the dust and pollen and stuff that darker ones do year-round. Either way cars will be hideously dirty during the winter. Mine gets big streaky salty spots down the side and rear during the winter and the whole thing is sort of glowing yellow now due to the pollen.

Hmm... Well I guess I will likely go with whatever color I like best that's available when it comes time to buy. lol

That's exactly what I did! It was between bright arrest-me-red and metallic black when I bought my GTI, and I just though black suited the nature of the car better. Would have jumped on dark blue or white if there were any within an hour of me!

For sure. The 2015 GTI is the other major consideration for my next car, or a used WRX, so we will see what happens.

Any of those will be a lot of fun. My GTI hasn't exactly been reliable, but I do love it. Best of luck!

Yeah, that's probably the biggest thing pushing me towards the other two. Although I know with the WRX there head gasket will likely need to be replaced before too long. And I know the FoST will be the cheaper of the two brand-new vehicles... It will likely come down to whatever the best deal is when I'm ready to buy.

Depends on how long you plan to keep it, too. If you're only keeping it for 3 years, like I'm doing with my car (it's a lease, downgrading to a shitty diesel Polo or something when I go to grad school), you probably won't have to worry much about any of them. But if you plan on keeping it for a while, Subaru or Ford may be a better choice. Hard to say since they're all relatively new.

I will be buying, not leasing, so this is going to be a very long term vehicle.
